TONI VADSAGER - North Sea Coast

The North Sea isn't always about big pelagics, and the Toni Vadsager proves it. This old fishing trawler, resting at 30 metres, is a proper dive into maritime history, and it’s one of our favourite wreck dives along the Danish coast. When you drop down, the first thing you notice is how intact she is, listing slightly to port, with the wheelhouse still largely recognisable. We love picking out the details – the winches, the railings, the sheer scale of the fishing gear that once plied these waters. Visibility can be a bit of a gamble here, typical for the North Sea, but when it's good, say 10 metres, the light filters down through the green water in a way that feels incredibly atmospheric. You'll find cod lurking in the deeper holds, often quite large, and if you shine a torch into the darker corners, you might spot conger eels snaking through the wreckage. It’s a site that rewards multiple visits, giving you time to explore different sections and really get a feel for the vessel. Best for experienced divers comfortable with deeper wrecks and changeable conditions, it’s a genuine step back in time.
