VINDS GRAV N - North Sea Coast

Vinds Grav N isn't some colourful reef; it’s a proper North Sea wreck, lying at a neat 20 metres. We love it because it’s a tangible piece of history, and it’s surprisingly intact for a wreck in these waters. Descending, you’ll start to make out the ghostly outline, a skeletal structure now draped in an entire ecosystem of anemones and sponges. It’s a site that really makes you feel the weight of the ocean and the stories held within. Visibility here can be a bit of a gamble; we've seen it range from a decent 10 metres to a silty 3, so pick your day carefully, ideally after a calm spell. When it’s good, the wreck reveals its secrets: twisted metal, the remains of bulkheads, and holds now home to curious cod and schools of pollack. Our favourite part is peeking into the darker corners, often finding a lingering lumpfish or two. This is definitely one for the drysuit crew, those who appreciate the chill and the unique beauty of northern wrecks over tropical colours. It’s a dive that rewards patience and a good torch.
