WEGA
Why dive here
With 95+ marine species recorded in the area - including seals & sea lions, sea turtles and jellyfish lake - WEGA offers some of North Sea Coast's richest wreck diving. Water ranges 3-19°C, warmest July, August, September.
The WEGA, a fishing vessel, sits shallow on the seabed, barely two meters down, making it a surprisingly accessible wreck dive off Denmark’s North Sea Coast. It’s classified as a dangerous wreck, which usually means it's broken up or unstable, but that just adds to its character for us. You won't be penetrating here, but exploring the scattered pieces reveals how quickly marine life takes over. Crabs scuttle through the hull fragments and various small fish dart in and out of the rusted metal, finding shelter in the wreck’s nooks. It’s a site for divers who appreciate the history and the resilience of nature, rather than deep exploration.
