MARIA - Alonissos Marine Park

The Maria wreck, sitting shallow at five metres, is an accessible little piece of history in the Alonissos Marine Park. It’s a motor vessel, not huge, but large enough to explore the remains of its hull and deck structure. What we really enjoy here is watching the shoals of damselfish darting in and out of the rusted metal, along with the occasional moray eel peeking from a dark corner. It’s an easy dive, perfect for a relaxed afternoon, and a nice spot for newer divers to get a feel for wreck diving without any serious depth or navigation challenges.
