Wreck of HMHS Britannic

Diving the HMHS Britannic isn’t just a dive, it’s a journey back in time, and honestly, we think it’s one of the Mediterranean’s truly special sites. You drop down, and suddenly, this colossal liner, the sister of the Titanic, just appears out of the blue. We love the sheer scale of the wreck; it’s largely intact and lying on its side, a haunting silhouette against the deep. You can spend an entire dive just absorbing the bow section, seeing the massive anchor chains, or finning along the promenade decks. The ship's sheer size means there’s always something new to catch your eye, even on multiple dives. We’ve seen huge schools of marbled spinefoot swirling around the superstructure, and octopuses tucked into nooks and crannies. While the depth can be challenging, the reward is immense – an intimate encounter with a piece of history that humbles you. This dive suits experienced technical divers comfortable with deeper profiles and looking for a wreck that tells a story. We’d suggest going in late summer for the best visibility, but be prepared for potential currents; the Aegean can be temperamental.
