Sarmas
Protected Area
SANTORINI: NEA KAI PALIA KAMENI - PROFITIS ILIAS
Why dive here
Sarmas is a dive where divers can encounter sea turtles. Water ranges 17-27°C, warmest July, August, September.
Sarmas is a solid choice for a casual dive off Crete, especially if you’re looking for a relaxed afternoon underwater. The topography here is interesting, with some good rock formations to explore where we've often spotted octopuses tucked away. It's a forgiving site, generally calm, making it a good option for newer divers or those who prefer a less strenuous experience. Expect typical Mediterranean reef fish and decent visibility on most days.
