HMS MAJESTIC - Halkidiki

The HMS Majestic wreck off Cape Helles isn't just a dive; it’s a history lesson playing out at 20 metres. We love the way this WWI battleship, sunk by a German U-boat in 1915, has settled, giving you a real sense of its sheer scale. You'll descend onto an immense structure, with the hull largely intact, though clearly showing the scars of time and the two torpedo hits. It's a huge ship, 125 metres long, and we'd suggest taking a reel and line if you plan on any serious penetration, but even just exploring the exterior offers plenty. Look for the massive guns, now overgrown with sponges, and the shadowy nooks where conger eels lurk. Schools of damselfish often cloud around the mast structure, and we’ve seen some surprisingly large groupers here too, just hanging out in the darker sections. It’s a site that really suits divers who appreciate a substantial wreck with a story, offering enough open access to satisfy most without requiring extensive technical skills. Just keep an eye on your depth and bottom time; it’s easy to get lost in the enormity of it all.
