Oceanaddicts - South Coast
The team at Oceanaddicts in Kinsale have that genuine, no-fuss Irish warmth. We’ve always found them incredibly welcoming, whether it’s your first time donning a drysuit or you’re a seasoned cold-water enthusiast. They’re a PADI 5 Star centre, which means solid instruction and a good range of courses, but it’s their local knowledge that really stands out. If you’re looking to explore Ireland’s south coast, particularly the wrecks and reefs around Cork, these are your people. What we love about diving with Oceanaddicts is the sheer variety of sites they can access. One day you might be finning over kelp-covered rocks, spotting elusive conger eels in the shadows, the next you’re dropping onto a historic wreck, feeling the history in the cold, green water. Our favourite kind of day with them involves a drift dive along the coast, letting the current do the work while we scan for dogfish and colourful nudibranchs clinging to the fronds. They’re meticulous with safety, but keep the atmosphere light and fun. We’d suggest chatting to them about conditions before you book – the south coast can be changeable, but on a good day, it’s truly rewarding diving, often with visibility better than you’d expect. Just remember your hood, the water has a bite.
