NETTA - South Coast
The Netta, a fishing vessel that ran aground in 1974, now lies in shallow water off Ireland's South Coast. She’s broken up quite a bit over the years, but you can still make out her general shape and some of the larger structural pieces. At only 12 metres, it’s a calm introduction to wreck diving, perfect for knocking the rust off your skills or for newer divers keen to explore something more than just rock. We’ve found conger eels tucked into the crevices, and crabs are always scuttling across the metal plates. It’s not a huge wreck, but the history and the resident critters make it a worthwhile dive when conditions are right.
