Why dive here
With 185+ marine species recorded in the area - including blue sharks, dolphins, dwarf minke whales, humpback whales and ocean sunfish (mola mola) - ST GERVAISE offers some of South Coast's richest wreck diving. Water ranges 9-15°C, warmest July, August, September.
The *St. Gervaise* is a proper working wreck off the Irish south coast, a 20.7m fishing vessel that went down in 2000. She sits upright at 20m, reasonably intact, which always makes for a satisfying dive. We often find conger eels tucked into her holds, and the deckhouse is usually busy with ballan wrasse zipping about. It’s a good spot for a second dive of the day, with enough nooks to poke around without being overly complex, suitable for anyone comfortable with a little overhead environment. Just be mindful of local currents, they can pick up quickly here.
