ST YVEL - South Coast
The ST YVEL, a trawler that went down in 1955, lies quietly between Valentia Pier and Reenard Point. What’s left of her sits in practically no depth at all, making it more of a shallow exploration than a dive. It's an unusual spot for a wreck, really, but the remaining structure has become a home for small crabs and fish, making their way through the rusted metal. We'd suggest this for a really calm day, a gentle snorkel to see a piece of maritime history and the creatures that have adopted it.
