THREE BROTHERS - South Coast
The Three Brothers, a fishing vessel that grounded on rocks off Canduff, Great Blasket Island back in 1990, offers a proper Irish wreck dive. Sitting at 23 metres, it’s a good depth for extended bottom time, and while it’s not swarming with pelagics, the wreck itself is a magnet for the usual suspects. You’ll find plenty of inquisitive wrasse darting in and out of the structure, conger eels tucked away in any crevice they can find, and decent-sized pollack hovering above the bow. It’s a site that suits divers looking for a solid wreck to explore, rather than a coral garden. The exposed location means conditions can be changeable, so picking a calm day is key for a comfortable dive here.
