U 104 - South Coast
Diving the U 104 off Ireland's South Coast is a deep dive, pushing nearly 60 metres, so it’s one for the experienced tech divers among us. This WWI German submarine met its end in 1918, rammed and depth-charged by HMS Jessamine. Today, she lies remarkably intact for her age, offering a tangible link to a bygone era. We’ve found her colonised by all the usual suspects, conger eels peeking from every opening, and squat lobsters tucked into crevices. It’s a serious wreck, demanding respect, but it rewards with a genuine sense of history and some quality deeper dwelling marine encounters.
