The HMS Transylvania wreck is one of those dives that feels like a real pilgrimage. She was a grand liner, then a WWI armed merchant cruiser, sunk by a U-boat in 1917. Now she rests in deeper water off the West Coast of Ireland, a truly impressive hulk. We typically find the conditions here can be challenging, with strong currents and reduced visibility not uncommon, but on a good day, it’s absolutely worth the effort. Dropping down onto her, the sheer scale hits you. This isn’t some small fishing boat; it’s a substantial liner, her structure still remarkably intact in places.
