Why dive here
With 169+ marine species recorded in the area - including dolphins, dwarf minke whales, humpback whales, ocean sunfish (mola mola) and octopuses - The Pinnacle offers some of West Coast's richest pinnacle diving. Water ranges 8-17°C, warmest July, August, September.
The Pinnacle on Ireland's West Coast is a good spot for divers looking for something a bit different. It’s a submerged rock, a large granite outcrop, that rises from the seabed. You can often find decent numbers of wrasse here, and sometimes we’ve seen conger eels tucked into the crevices. It’s a straightforward dive, well-suited to those comfortable with boat diving in variable conditions.
Safety Notes
Cold water this month (avg 14°C). Drysuit or thick wetsuit (7mm+) recommended.
