COPPER QUEEN - Comino

We love the Copper Queen for a chilled-out afternoon dive. It’s a shallow wreck, only five meters deep, making it perfect for a long bottom time or even a leisurely snorkel. You’ll find her tucked away near the shore in Comino, a pretty easy entry from a small beach if you time the winds right. The wreck itself is a yacht that went down in the 70s after an explosion – quite a story, that one. What makes her special? The light. At this depth, the Mediterranean sun just floods the wreck, highlighting the colours of the sponges and algae that have completely taken over the hull. We’ve spent ages just watching the damselfish flitting in and out of the rusted portholes, and the occasional octopus peeking out from under a plate. It’s a gentle exploration, a wreck you can really get close to without feeling rushed. Ideal for newer divers, or anyone who just wants to unwind and take some photos in fantastic light.
