Octopus Garden Scuba Diving - Comino
The team at Octopus Garden Scuba Diving are serious about SSI. They’re an SSI Instructor Training Centre, which means you’re not just getting standard courses, but a really deep dive into the SSI system, from basic certifications all the way up to instructor level. We think they’re brilliant for anyone looking to progress their dive education, especially if you’re considering going pro or just want to expand your specialities. It’s also a solid choice if you prefer a German-speaking environment, as that’s clearly their specialty. We love that they’re set up in St. Paul’s Bay, making them a great launchpad for exploring the waters around Comino. We always find the diving here has a distinctive feel, a bit wilder than some other spots in Malta. Think dramatic rock formations and swim-throughs where the light plays tricks, making the water glow an electric blue. When the currents are running right, we've seen schools of barracuda cruising past, their silver scales flashing in the sun, especially around the outer reefs. Our favourite thing to do from here is an early morning boat trip out to the deeper pinnacles; the quiet solitude underwater before the daytrippers arrive is something special. They run a tight ship, so expect well-organised trips and instructors who genuinely know their stuff.
