PAMPAS (AFTER PART) - Comino

Pampas (After Part) isn't your typical wreck dive, and that’s precisely why we love it. Sunk in 1942, this motor vessel was bombed repeatedly, leaving it pretty mangled. You're not exploring a pristine ship here; you're sifting through history. It's astonishingly shallow, with a max depth of just 3m, which means anyone can get a good look. We’d suggest going in the late afternoon. The low sun angles illuminate the twisted metal in a way that’s almost haunting, casting long shadows across the debris field. The stern section is the most intact part, and even that is heavily broken, but it’s still fascinating to see how the sea reclaims things. We often find juvenile damselfish darting between the plates, and small schools of bream graze around the scattered remnants of the engine room. Keep an eye out for nudibranchs, too. They love to hide among the rust-coloured framework. It's a dive that rewards slow, deliberate exploration.
