PAMPAS (FORE PART) - Comino

Pampas isn't your typical Med wreck dive. It’s shallow, accessible, and surprisingly evocative for something so blasted. We’re talking about a motor vessel, the fore part of a ship sunk by bombs back in 1942. You'd think that would mean scattered debris, but the remaining sections give it a real sense of character. What we love about Pampas is how the wreck has become a home. Schools of damselfish shimmer around the fragmented hull, and octopus often tuck themselves into the nooks and crannies. It’s a photographer’s dream on a sunny day, the light penetrating right to the seabed, illuminating the metalwork and the curious glint of bream. Entry and exit are straightforward, usually a short swim from the Comino shore, making it perfect for a relaxed second dive or for divers getting comfortable with wrecks. Our tip? Go early morning before any day boats stir up the sand, and the light really sings.
