Sikka il-Munxar - Comino

Saint Crispin Reef, up in the Ribbon Reefs, feels like a proper expedition. It’s a bit of a trek to get there, but that’s part of the appeal; you’re not sharing the water with dozens of other boats. We love that feeling of remoteness. The reef itself is a tapestry of hard corals – we're talking serious corrugated coral formations and big, brainy Pachyseris that have been growing for centuries. Our favourite spots are the shallow bommies where the light really plays through the water. You’ll find Sickle Butterflyfish flitting about, and we’ve often seen Dusky Parrotfish crunching away at the coral. Keep an eye out for Smith's Cuttlefish, too; they’re masters of camouflage and always a treat to spot. Deeper down, if you’re lucky, a Black Marlin might cruise past in the blue. It’s a site for divers who appreciate robust coral structures and a quieter, more authentic Great Barrier Reef experience.
