FAISHASUB - Al Hoceima
The team at FAISHASUB in Al Hoceima are some of the most genuinely enthusiastic divers we've met. They’re PADI 5 Star, which is reassuring, but it’s their local knowledge that really stands out. We reckon they’re the crew to dive with if you're looking to explore the Al Hoceima National Park’s less-travelled spots, particularly those with interesting rock formations and grottos. They suit divers who appreciate a personal touch and aren't chasing the biggest pelagics, but rather a more intimate experience with the Mediterranean's unique beauty. We love that they focus on quality over quantity. Instead of packing boats, they seem to prefer smaller groups, which means more time exploring and less time waiting around. Our favourite dive with them involved a drift through a series of arches, sunlight dappling through the water onto schools of juvenile barracuda. You’ll feel the subtle current nudge you along as you glide past red gorgonians clinging to the walls. We’d suggest going in late spring or early autumn; the water’s still warm, but the crowds are thinner, and the visibility tends to be at its best, often pushing 25 metres. Their passion for showing off their backyard is infectious, and you’ll finish the day feeling like you’ve properly discovered something new.
