LADY AVERGREER - Al Hoceima

The LADY AVERGREER isn't about depth, it’s about history and the sheer accessibility of a well-preserved wreck. Lying just 7 metres down, this yacht, scuttled by fire and drift in 1981, is perfect for a long, relaxed dive, even for newer divers. We love poking around her structure, imagining the drama of her final moments. You can really get a sense of her former grandeur. The wreck itself is a playground for small critters. Shoals of tiny damselfish dart in and out of the cabin windows, and we’ve often spotted octopus tucked into crevices, their eyes watching you with curious intensity. Sunlight streams through the shallow water, illuminating the growth on the hull, making for some truly striking photos. Our favourite time to visit is mid-morning, just as the sun gets high enough to really flood the wreck with light, before any potential afternoon chop picks up. It’s a gentle introduction to wreck diving, with enough character to keep even seasoned divers happily exploring.
