CB Profundo Azul - Cabo de Palos

CB Profundo Azul. The name alone makes you feel like you're dropping into something serious, and you are. This isn't a drift dive for the faint of heart, it’s a proper expedition. You descend onto a rocky shelf, the light fading fast as you push deeper. We love how the wall just drops into the gloom, often with big schools of barracuda circling out in the blue. Keep your eyes peeled for conger eels tucked into the crevices; they get huge here. The real magic, though, is in the smaller stuff if you know where to look. We've spent ages poking around with a torch, finding Pearlfish hiding in anemones and these wonderfully camouflaged Spotted Dragonets on the sand patches. It’s a site that demands attention to detail, but rewards it with moments like watching a Common Eagle Ray glide past, completely unbothered by your presence. Our advice? Go early, before the boat traffic picks up, and take your time. This isn’t a rush job, it’s a deep dive into the Mediterranean's wild side.
