FARO DE SAN POLA - Cabo de Palos

The Faro de San Pola wreck sits comfortably at 13 metres, an old motor vessel that’s now a fantastic, easy dive just off Cabo de Palos. We love it because it's so accessible, perfect for a relaxed afternoon exploring without the hassle of deeper, more technical wrecks. You can really take your time here, swimming around the intact hull and peering into what were once holds. What we really enjoy are the big schools of barracuda that often hang lazily above the wreck, catching the sunlight. Inside, or rather, where the inside used to be, you’ll spot scorpionfish tucked into crevices and moray eels peeking out from under metal plates. It’s not a massive wreck, but there’s enough structure to keep you engaged, tracing the outline of the decks and imagining its working life. We'd suggest going on a calm day; the visibility really opens up, making the whole wreck glow in the Mediterranean light. It's a gentle introduction to wreck diving, with plenty of life to reward a slow, careful exploration.
