HMS Manxman - Cabo de Palos

The HMS Manxman, just off Cabo de Palos, isn't just another wreck. She's a big, imposing beast of a ship, a former minelayer sunk during a storm, and you feel that history as you descend. Our favourite part has to be the sheer scale of the thing. You drop onto her deck at around 30 metres, then spend the rest of the dive exploring the superstructure, which bottoms out at 45 metres. We love the way the light filters through the remaining structure, creating these incredible shafts of blue that pierce the gloom. Keep an eye out for resident conger eels peeking from every hole, and the schools of barracuda that often circle the mast. It’s a dive that rewards careful exploration, letting you appreciate the sheer size and the way the sea has reclaimed it. This one suits experienced divers comfortable with deeper profiles and potential currents; it’s a proper wreck dive, no apologies.
