La Losa de Calarreona - Cabo de Palos

La Losa de Calarreona might not scream "epic," but it’s a solid dive for anyone looking for something beyond the typical reef. Dropping to a comfortable 20 metres, this site is basically a big rock plateau, a kind of undersea island that attracts a decent mix of Mediterranean residents. We often spot barracuda cruising overhead, sometimes in quite large schools, and it’s a good spot for octopus and various nudibranchs tucked into the crevices. It’s an intermediate dive, largely because of the occasional current that sweeps through, so keeping an eye on your dive guide is always a good idea. We’d suggest it for divers who appreciate a relaxed pace and aren’t solely chasing big pelagics.
