LOS TRES HERMANOS - Cabo de Palos
Los Tres Hermanos is one of our favourite deep wrecks in Cabo de Palos, sitting upright in 53 metres of water. It's an old cargo ship, sunk during a storm, and you can still feel the history when you descend. We love pushing past the thermocline and seeing the bow emerge from the gloom, usually swarming with barracuda. Inside the cargo holds, where the light struggles to reach, you'll often find conger eels peering out from cracks in the plating. What makes this wreck special, beyond its depth, is how intact it still feels. You can swim through corridors, imagine the crew going about their day. The deck is carpeted in colourful sponges and soft corals, a real magnet for nudibranchs if you slow down and look closely. We'd suggest this site for experienced deep divers comfortable with deco, as the rewards are worth the planning. Look for a calm day; the surface chop can make the descent a bit less enjoyable.
