Nautica Scuba Elx - Cabo de Palos

Nautica Scuba Elx, off Cabo de Palos, feels like a private aquarium, and frankly, we love it. This site hums with activity, particularly if you’re into the smaller, more elusive creatures. Drop down and spend some time scanning the rubble patches, the substrate here is surprisingly productive. We’ve had incredible luck spotting Spotted Dragonets doing their little dances, and the Atlantic Stargazers are always a thrill, half-buried with just their eyes peeking out. Keep an eye on the water column too; we've seen schools of scad and horse mackerel zip past, and the blacktail bream are almost always present. For macro fans, the Scarlet Coral adds a splash of unexpected colour against the sandy bottom, and the Common Octopus often makes an appearance, sometimes even changing colours right before your eyes. This is a brilliant spot for photographers, especially if you’re patient and enjoy a slower, more detailed dive. It’s not about big pelagics, it’s about the intricate little world unfolding beneath you.
