la Pedrosa

Pedrosa is one of those Medes sites that always delivers. We’ve seen it on calm, sunny days when the light just streams through the gorgonians, and on choppier ones where you really appreciate the protection of the rock. Drop down the mooring line and you’re immediately enveloped by the schooling fish – usually dense clouds of barracuda or gleaming silver jacks. We love the way the reef here is so sculpted, full of overhangs and crevices that just beg to be explored. Peer inside and you’ll often spot a sleepy brown comber or a flash of scarlet coral. Keep an eye out in the blue too; we’ve had some cracking encounters with common eagle rays here, gliding past like silent shadows. What makes Pedrosa special, beyond the sheer number of species, is how accessible it feels. Even on busy days, you can find a quiet nook to observe a seahorse clinging to seagrass, or watch for the elusive red band-fish darting between rocks. This is a site for divers who appreciate details, but also for those who just want to soak in the general buzz of a healthy Mediterranean reef. Our tip: go slow, check every crevice, and remember to look up. You might just spot a loggerhead turtle cruising overhead.
