Vrotslav - Baltic Coast

The Baltic is always a bit of a gamble, but Vrotslav is one of those bets that usually pays off. She’s a decent-sized cargo ship, sitting upright at 58 metres, and what we love most is how intact she feels down there. You drop onto the deck, usually into visibility that’s surprisingly good for these waters, and she just looms out of the green. The bridge is still largely accessible, and finning through the superstructure, you get a real sense of her scale. Think cargo holds, davits, and a surprising amount of detail still clinging to the metal. It’s cold water diving, so the corals are absent, but the wreck has become a home for lumpsuckers tucked into crevices and various crabs scuttling across the plates. It’s a proper expedition, demanding good planning and gas management. Our favourite dive here was a slow circumnavigation, really taking in the full silhouette against the gloom. We’d suggest a double tank setup and plenty of bottom time to appreciate her. This is a dive for experienced wreck enthusiasts, those who appreciate history and the quiet solitude of a deep Baltic wreck.
