GERDA - West Coast (Gothenburg)
The Gerda, a fishing vessel that went down in 1965, offers a decent wreck dive off Gothenburg. She sits upright at 21 metres, relatively intact, which makes for some good penetration opportunities for experienced wreck divers. You can swim through the wheelhouse and explore the holds, where we’ve often found cod and conger eels lurking in the shadows. Visibility can vary here, like much of the Swedish west coast, so picking a calm day after a period of stable weather is your best bet for a clearer view of the hull and the anemones that now cling to it. It’s a solid dive for those who enjoy a bit of history and a compact wreck to explore.
