HAMM - West Coast (Gothenburg)
The HAMM, a German steamship torpedoed in 1940, offers a proper wreck dive off Sweden’s West Coast. Lying at 24 metres, she’s largely intact, which always makes for an interesting explore. We like tracing the deck lines, picking out the large turbine engines, and peering into cargo holds now home to schools of cod and pollock. The HAMM is a serious wreck for those comfortable with deeper, colder water, and the low visibility common in these northern waters adds a genuine sense of adventure. It’s a compelling piece of history, colonised by the sea.
