INGOMAR - West Coast (Gothenburg)

The Ingomar wreck is a real character dive, even if she sits in the shallower end of the spectrum. Sunk in 1927, this old barque has really settled into her role as an artificial reef, especially nice for newer wreck divers or those wanting a longer bottom time. We love drifting over her collapsed wooden hull, imagining her last moments before she went down. You'll spend most of your dive at around 14 metres, which is perfect for really taking your time. The structure itself is quite broken up, but you can still make out the ribs and some decking, now completely colonised by anemones and hydroids. Our favourite part is peeking into the darker nooks and crannies where lumpsuckers often hide, their grumpy faces glaring out from the gloom. Visibility here can swing a bit, but on a good day, when the light penetrates, the whole wreck shimmers with a soft green glow. It’s a gentle dive, suited for anyone who appreciates the history of a wreck and the new life it now supports, without the pressure of strong currents or deep depths.
