KAP FARVEL - West Coast (Gothenburg)

KAP FARVEL isn’t just another lump of metal on the seabed, it’s a proper dive. We’re talking about a fishing vessel, and while the data calls it 'non-dangerous,' it’s still a deep wreck at 31 metres. This one’s for the experienced diver, definitely. The wreck itself is pretty intact, sitting upright, and the structure is still very recognisable as a boat. We love how the wheelhouse offers a swim-through, a compact little exploration that always feels rewarding. Inside, you can still make out various bits of equipment, rusted over, but clearly part of its working life. Visibility here can be a bit of a lottery, as it often is on the Swedish west coast. If you catch it on a good day, the light filtering down through the green water gives everything a moody, almost ethereal glow. Even on dimmer days, your torch beam brings out the details – the anemones clinging to the hull, the odd cod peering from a doorway, and those smaller critters, nudibranchs mainly, tucked into crevices. It’s got that classic wreck vibe, where you really feel the history of the boat. Give this one a shot when you’re looking for a genuine wreck dive, not just a reef with some scrap metal.
