With 121+ marine species recorded in the area - including dolphins, dwarf minke whales, humpback whales, orcas and seals & sea lions - LIS offers some of West Coast (Gothenburg)'s richest wreck diving. Water ranges 3-18°C, warmest July, August, September.
The LIS wreck, a former fishing vessel, settled on the seabed off Gothenburg in 1991. Now lying at 28 meters, she's become a decent artificial reef, attracting the usual suspects you’d expect in these colder waters. We usually find schools of small pollack zipping around her superstructure, and sometimes a few grumpy-looking conger eels peeking out from the darker corners. While she’s not the biggest wreck around, there's enough integrity left to make a nice circuit. It's a comfortable dive for those with a bit of wreck experience, without any tricky penetrations or strong currents to contend with.
