RASK AF MOSS - West Coast (Gothenburg)

There’s something about a shallow wreck, isn't there? The Rask af Moss, just outside Gothenburg, hits that sweet spot perfectly. She was a cutter, sank back in ’89, and now sits bolt upright in a mere six metres of water. We love a dive where you can practically spend the entire hour just circling, really getting to know the structure. She’s broken up quite a bit over the decades, but the bow and stern sections are still distinct. You’ll find the ribs of her hull standing proud, creating these fantastic little archways. Light filters down, illuminating schools of saithe that dart in and out, treating the wreck like their own personal playground. Look closely in the nooks and crannies – we’ve seen some surprisingly large lobsters tucked away, and the occasional inquisitive wrasse will check you out. Our favourite is exploring the remains of the wheelhouse, imagining her final moments. It’s a cracker of a dive for photographers looking to play with natural light, or anyone keen on a relaxed exploration of a piece of history that’s become a vibrant artificial reef.
