The Stella lies just outside the Halmstad fairway, a scattered reminder of its sinking back in '89. This isn't a wreck you penetrate, rather it's an archaeological site, with its 34-metre hull broken up across the seabed at a shallow 15 metres. We've found the stern section often holds the most interest, with some engine parts still discernible amidst the debris. It’s a site for those who enjoy patiently sifting through history, rather than a grand, intact vessel. Expect to see plenty of local wrasse, crabs, and nudibranchs making homes in the twisted metal. We'd suggest this for divers who appreciate the subtler aspects of a wreck dive, especially on a calm day when the visibility can really open up.
