AEGIR - Cornwall & Devon
The Aegir, a 12.2m sailing vessel that went down in 1977, sits in 23m of water off Burton Bradstock. It's a small wreck, often overlooked, but it's developed into a surprisingly robust home for local marine life. We've seen conger eels poking out from beneath plates of steel, crabs scuttling amongst the ribs, and occasionally, a curious pollack might swim alongside you. It’s a good choice for divers looking for a relaxed potter around a piece of history without the strong currents or big depths sometimes found on other Devon wrecks.
