Why dive here
With 176+ marine species recorded in the area - including blue sharks, dolphins, dwarf minke whales, humpback whales and ocean sunfish (mola mola) - Buckland Lake offers some of Cornwall & Devon's richest diving. Water ranges 10-18°C, warmest July, August, September.
Buckland Lake offers a freshwater dive, a decent option for getting wet in Cornwall. You’ll find some old boats, a bus, and other assorted bits and pieces that have been sunk over time. It’s a site best suited for training or checking your gear, rather than a dedicated wildlife dive. Expect chilly conditions and limited visibility, especially after heavy rain.
