Carn Base - Cornwall & Devon
South Fairway Reef in Safaga offers a solid drift dive when the currents are running, which they often are here. We usually drop in up-current and let the reef system glide by, keeping an eye out for larger pelagics in the blue. Schools of fusiliers are common, sometimes so thick they almost block out the sun, and we’ve spotted bottlenose dolphins cruising the drop-off more than once. The corals themselves are in decent shape, mostly hard corals with plenty of smaller reef fish darting amongst them. It's a good spot for divers comfortable with current, offering a relaxed but engaging dive without too much effort.
