DINA (POSSIBLY) - Cornwall & Devon

Diving the Dina is a proper deep dive, sitting at 59 metres. We love this wreck for its character, even if it is a bit of a pig to find sometimes. This stern trawler went down in 1982 after hitting something submerged, and the story of the three crew taking to a liferaft adds a real human element to the dive. The wreck itself, while not huge at 18.3 metres, is wonderfully intact. You can still make out the superstructure and the stern trawling gear, which is always our favourite part to poke around. What really makes the Dina shine though is the life that’s claimed it. We often see conger eels peering from every dark corner, and the sheer number of bib and pollack shoaling around the mast is impressive. Look for nudibranchs on the deck plating and the occasional inquisitive octopus tucked into a crevice. This is a dive for experienced wreck enthusiasts comfortable with the depth and the often challenging conditions of the English Channel. It’s a proper expedition, and you’ll want to pick your weather window carefully.
