ELSA - Cornwall & Devon
The ELSA wreck, a fishing vessel resting at 22m, offers a solid dive for those exploring Cornwall's underwater history. We found her to be a proper working boat, not some grand liner, which gives her a real character. You can poke around the wheelhouse area and the bow, where the fishing gear is still visible, giving a sense of her last moments. Conger eels often peek from crevices, and the metalwork attracts plenty of plumose anemones and dead man’s fingers, which add a surprising splash of colour against the grey. It’s a good spot for divers comfortable with UK diving conditions, keen on exploring a piece of local maritime heritage rather than a sprawling reef.
