EMPIRE BROADSWORD - Cornwall & Devon
The Empire Broadsword, a hefty landing craft from World War II, sits upright at 20 metres, making it a solid dive for those who enjoy history with their bubbles. She’s a big girl, 121 metres long, and while the explosion that sank her in 1944 did its damage, there’s still plenty of structure to explore. We’ve found conger eels tucked into her compartments and decent-sized pollack patrolling the decks. It’s a proper wreck dive, best suited for experienced divers comfortable with deeper, often cooler, UK waters, but a rewarding one for sure.
