With 176+ marine species recorded in the area - including blue sharks, dolphins, dwarf minke whales, humpback whales and ocean sunfish (mola mola) - F 614 offers some of Cornwall & Devon's richest wreck diving. Water ranges 10-18°C, warmest July, August, September.
The F 614, a factory ship sunk while under tow in 1944, sits upright at 35 metres. This 61-metre wreck is well-broken but still recognisable, with parts of its superstructure and hull providing shelter for conger eels and squat lobsters. We usually find decent visibility here, though the depth means you’ll want to watch your bottom time. It's a solid dive for experienced wreck enthusiasts looking for a piece of wartime history off the Cornish coast, often swarming with small schools of pollack. Just remember, it’s classified as a dangerous wreck, so penetration isn't really an option.
