Frode

Dropping onto the Frode, you’re met with the ghostly outline of a steamship, sunk back in 1943. It’s a shallow wreck, only seven metres deep, making it a good spot for a relaxed dive, especially if you’re new to wrecks or just want a longer bottom time. The Frode broke up a fair bit, so what you're really exploring here are scattered sections of hull and machinery, draped in various seaweeds and often home to crabs tucked into crevices. While we haven't logged specific species here, it’s typical to find conger eels eyeing you from sheltered spots, and plenty of pollack weaving through the structure. Visibility can swing, as it often does in Cornwall, so aim for neap tides and a calm spell for the best experience.
