GABRIELLE ANNICK - Cornwall & Devon

The *Gabrielle Annick* is a deep, moody wreck off the Cornish coast, and it’s one of our favourite trawlers to dive. This isn't a site for beginners; dropping to 47m, it demands experience and respect for the conditions. We love the way she sits upright on the seabed, relatively intact despite the years. You can still make out the wheelhouse, the mast, and the general lines of her 19.8-meter length. It’s a proper dive, a deep descent into the cold, green water, where the light fades quickly, giving the wreck a truly evocative feel. Visibility can be a real gamble out here, so pick your day carefully, ideally after a long spell of calm weather. When it’s good, though, you’re rewarded with the sight of her superstructure completely draped in plumose anemones, their white tentacles swaying gently in the current. Conger eels are often found tucked into the deeper recesses of the hull, and schools of bib and pollack dart in and out of the shadows. It’s a site for those who appreciate the quiet solitude of a deep wreck, where the history and the marine life merge into a singular, memorable experience.
