Why dive here
With 176+ marine species recorded in the area - including blue sharks, dolphins, dwarf minke whales, humpback whales and ocean sunfish (mola mola) - Gannet s Bay offers some of Cornwall & Devon's richest reef diving. Water ranges 10-18°C, warmest July, August, September.
Gannet's Bay in Cornwall offers a straightforward shore dive, often used for training or a relaxed afternoon exploring the shallows. You'll find a sandy bottom with scattered rocky outcrops, home to crabs, wrasse, and sometimes conger eels tucked into crevices. It’s a good spot for newer divers getting comfortable with entries and exits, or for photographers looking for macro subjects without strong currents. We've found the visibility can be variable, but on a good day, it’s a pleasant, easy dive.
