GERMA GEISHA - Cornwall & Devon

The Germa Geisha is a real favourite of ours off the Cornish coast, especially if you’re into proper shipwrecks. She went down in 1980 after her cargo shifted, and now she sits upright at 24 metres, largely intact. You drop down onto the deck, and you can still make out the superstructure, the bridge area, it’s all there. What we love about this wreck is how it feels like a moment frozen in time. The bow points west, and you can explore the holds, which are often filled with schooling pollack and pouting. Look closer on the deck plates and you’ll spot dogfish tucked into crevices, and sometimes a ling lurking deeper inside. The current can pick up a bit here, so we always suggest diving this one on a neap tide for a more relaxed exploration. It’s a proper dive, ideal for those comfortable with deeper wrecks and a bit of overhead environment. We’ve spent hours here, and there’s always something new to see, another part of her structure to peek into, or another creature making its home in the steel.
