HALSEWELL - Cornwall & Devon
The *Halswell*, wrecked in 1786, is a real piece of history. You’re not just diving metal here, you're exploring the remains of an East Indiaman, broken against the Purbeck cliffs in a terrible storm. We love how the wreck is scattered, not a single intact hull, but rather an archaeological puzzle spread across the seabed. You'll find timbers, cannon, and various other artefacts, all draped in a surprising amount of soft coral and sponges. It’s a site for those who enjoy a slower dive, peering into crevices, imagining the ship's final moments. We’d suggest a calm day, as surge can make the shallower sections a bit tricky, but the rewards are worth it – a genuinely atmospheric dive, rich with narrative.
