HERON - Cornwall & Devon
The Heron sits upright at 22 metres, a solid wreck dive off the coast of Jersey. This old carrier vessel, a Dutch build from '56, met its end on the Paternoster rocks heading for Portsmouth. She's 57 metres long, offering a good amount to explore, especially with that upright stance. We’ve found her superstructure holds plenty of nooks for conger eels, and often you'll spot lobsters tucked into the plating. With the currents around here, the site gets a decent wash, keeping the visibility often quite good, and we find the anemones and dead man's fingers really thrive on the exposed metal. It's a proper wreck experience, best suited for those comfortable with deeper dives and a bit of current.
